Exciting news for sporting shooters enthusiasts and newcomers alike—Auburn is now home to the Auburn Shooting Centre (ASC), officially opening its doors in early February 2025. Operated by the SSAA NSW, the ASC is set to become a hub for skill development, training, safe storage and community engagement, offering a safe and welcoming space for all levels of sporting shooters.

Try Shooting – A supervised introduction to sport shooting, perfect for first-time participants looking to experience the sport in a safe and guided environment.
Range Hire – Book a lane and practice your shooting skills in a professional setting.
Safe Storage – Secure firearm storage options, including pistol safes, available monthly or on an annual basis.
Training Programs – Certified courses for beginners and experienced shooters to improve technique and safety knowledge.

Meet the Auburn Shooting Centre Range Manager: Boutros Zouki

Leading the Auburn Shooting Centre is Boutros Zouki, an experienced security and aviation professional with a strong background in compliance, safety, and customer service. With 17 years in the international aviation industry, including a tenure as Acting Head of Aviation Security for Etihad Airways, Boutros brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.
A graduate in Security & Counter-Terrorism from Swinburne University in Melbourne, he has spent a decade with Emirates Airlines, mastering safety, security training, and customer service management. His multicultural experience makes him an excellent communicator, ensuring that ASC remains a welcoming environment for visitors from all backgrounds.
Boutros is also a passionate sporting shooters advocate, with years of experience in rifle and pistol shooting. Having served at St. Marys Indoor Shooting Centre before his appointment at Auburn, he is eager to share his love for the sport, promote conservation efforts, and support the rights of sporting shooters in Australia.

Calibres & Ammunition approved at the Auburn Shooting Centre.

The Auburn Shooting Centre will accept Pistol shooters with valid High Calibre Permits.
The approval is subject to:
- The calibres being shot shall not exceed the approved Pistol Calibres reflected in the existing Range Standing Orders.
- The shooter must present a valid and original High Calibre Permit to the Counter Staff.
- The Counter staff shall record the High Calibre Permit number in the Fax section of the shooter’s profile in REX + Expiry Date: DD/MM/YYYY.
Clubs will be informed in a separate email to allow such shooter during their competitions subject to:
- Club Captain to physically verifying a valid and original High Calibre Permit of the shooter.
- Then to direct their Pistol High Calibre shooters to the counter staff to carry out point 3 of this email.
