SSAA Grafton

North Coast

SSAA Grafton Branch has over 500 Members drawn from an area that encompasses a large slice of the NSW North Coast.

Grafton Branch is bordered by Coffs Harbour Branch, Glen Innes Branch and Northern Rivers Branch.

TRENAYR  ROAD  RANGE is located at 434 Trenayr Rd Junction Hill, approximately 10km North of Grafton near the village of  Junction Hill.

The Range is shared on Sundays with several Shooting Clubs with various disciplines including:

SSAA – Benchrest and Shotgun, Clarence Valley Small Bore Rifle Club  and Clarence River Pistol Club.

The range has two undercover shooting areas, a clubhouse and an ablutions block with toilets and shower.

Benchrest

SSAA Grafton Branch holds Rimfire & Centrefire Benchrest Shoots on the first and fifth Sundays of the month at 9am.- (See Event Calendar)

Clarence Valley Small Bore Rifle Club (SSAA affiliated) also utilise the facility from 1pm every Sunday.

The Benchrest shed has a concrete floor and extensive sound absorbing material to reduce reflected muzzle blast.

The concrete floor extends out of the shed to allow for car parking for our wheel chair bound members to have single level access to the shooting area.

There are 10 permanent concrete and block benchrest tables fronting a 50m and a 100 yard range, plus good quality front and rear rests and stools.

Shotgun

SSAA Grafton holds Shotgun Shoots on the third Sunday of the Month from 9am- (See Calendar of Events)

The Shotgun Facility consists of a single stand clay thrower and events currently have a course of 40 clays.

The Range Licence holder is Grafton Rifle Club (NRAA affiliated) and holds the tenancy over the whole range which is on Crown land.

It has shooting mounds from 100 yds through to 900 yds for long range competitions and its activities occupy the whole of every Saturday.

These include Rimfire Class alternated week by week with Field Class (centrefire) morning competitions and Full Bore, “F” Class and Hunter Class big bore competitions every Saturday afternoon.

SSAA members are welcome to occasionally participate in GRC shoots. Full  Local Membership of GRC is available for a very reasonable fee ($50 for year ending June 2023).
