The 2025 SSAA NSW Single Action State Titles were held over the June long weekend at the SSAA NSW Bathurst Branch Range, spectacularly located at the foot of the world-famous Mt Panorama racing circuit.
This year’s event was a true celebration of cowboy action shooting, featuring 74 registered competitors in a RANGO-inspired weekend of cowboy action.
Over three exciting days, competitors from across NSW took part in 12 main match stages.
The event kicked off on Thursday with the Wild Bunch side match, where 20 shooters braved the crisp winter air.
Winners of the Wild Bunch side match:

- Scott – 1st Men’s Modern
- Matt – 1st Men’s Traditional
- Scott – 1st Senior Men’s Modern
- Stephen – 1st Senior Men’s Traditional
- Sarah – 1st Ladies Modern Tania – 1st Ladies Traditional
Friday morning brought classic Bathurst winter conditions – light frost and blue skies.
Shooters began with side matches focused on speed before moving into the first four main match stages.
Later in the day, members gathered for the NSW Single Action AGM in the clubhouse.
Saturday brought another set of four main match stages, followed by more side events including the Derringer match, Cowboy Clays, and a teams match. Sunday’s final four stages were held in cold and wet conditions, but that didn’t dampen the single action spirit.
The match featured a variety of large steel plates – from 400mm square plates to 120mm knockdown rounds – testing the skill of every shooter.
