Jai Rowell Returns to SSAA NSW as Voluntary Board Advisor

The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (SSAA) NSW is pleased to welcome back Jai Rowell as a non-voting voluntary Board Advisor. Having previously served as CEO, Jai brings extensive experience in governance, advocacy, and community engagement. His return will further support SSAA NSW in strengthening its strategic direction and ensuring continued growth for the shooting community.

A Strong History with SSAA NSW

Jai is well known within SSAA NSW community, having previously served as CEO, where he led significant organisational improvements. Under his leadership, SSAA NSW transitioned to a company limited by guarantee, enhancing its governance framework.

He also played a pivotal role in securing funding for range upgrades and expanding shooting facilities across the state. His efforts positioned SSAA NSW as a respected advocate, ensuring the association had a strong voice in firearms policy discussions

Ongoing Commitment to the Shooting Community

Although Jai stepped down as CEO over a year ago to take on a senior role in local government, he has remained actively involved in the shooting sports. As a Firearms Safety Training Instructor, he continues to introduce new people to the sport while providing guidance to branches, members, and industry stakeholders.

Recognising his continued contributions, the SSAA NSW Board invited Jai to take on this honorary role, enabling him to provide strategic advice and further assist with advocacy efforts. His background in local and state government, combined with his deep understanding of firearms legislation, makes him a valuable asset to SSAA NSW.

SSAA NSW CEO, Andrew Macaulay said of Jai’s return, “SSAA NSW is pleased to have Jai back in this new role and looks forward to working with him to strengthen the association’s future. His experience, leadership, and commitment to the shooting community will continue to benefit members and the sport as a whole.”
