SSAA Broken Hill
The Broken Hill Branch encompasses the largest NSW area, Western Division, spanning some 30 million hectares & making up about 42% of the state.
Boundaries are defined with South Australia in the west, Queensland in the north & Victoria in the south & the branch has members spanning from Tibooburra to Balranald & across to Wilcannia & Ivanhoe in the east & many pastoral properties in between.
Shoots are held on the first & fourth Sundays of each month with rimfire events on the first & centrefire on the fourth. An extra event is added if a fifth Sunday occurs during that month.
Shooting commences at 1pm until finish & calibre is restricted to 8mm. If anyone interested in attending for the first time & needs information, please contact the Broken Hill Branch.
The branch has use of a 200 meter range on Broken Hill Pistol Club’s privately owned freehold land in the Broken Hill Sporting Complex. Also, in the complex on the northern outskirts of Broken Hill the branch’s neighbours are the pistol club, shotgun club, full-bore & smallbore rifle clubs.
Extensive earth works & firing line baffling has been conducted in accordance with Firearms Registry’s requirements to make the range a limited danger zone range allowing for extended use.
The branch has 240 members & looking forward to those numbers growing & future endeavours.
