A history of the association
The SSAA was founded nationally in 1948 to represent the interests of law-abiding sporting shooters. SSAA NSW was established in the 1950s and continues to provide leadership, governance, and support to local branches, clubs and the wider shooting community.
Today, we are proud to represent our members in policy discussions, industry research and development, education and training. SSAA NSW also works closely with the Firearms Registry and government to ensure that our members are represented on issues that matter and continue to advocate safe and responsible shooting.
