Located just 12km from Gilgandra at the Gilgandra Rifle Range, SSAA Gilgandra run 100yd and 200yd centrefire shoots on the first Saturday each month and 50yd and 75yd rimfire shoots on the third Saturday each month, with arrival at 9:00am – 9:30am to setup and sight in with competition starting at 10am. Visitors with a current firearms licence can also come and compete or practice.
We cater for both Target class rifles and Hunter class which includes most factory rifles other than those designed for target shooting. There is an upper calibre limit of 8mm (.32″) for centrefire rifles.
On arriving at the Range please sign in at the mobile office (caravan) located at the firing line. Be aware that our Standing Orders allow a bolt to be in the rifle only when you are lined up on the target on the firing line and ready to shoot. This means rifles must be carried with their bolts removed if possible and an Empty Chamber Indicator fitted.
Shooting is from portable benches and fees are $10 per shoot which covers your targets etc.
Our Collectors Club meets several times each year by arrangement.
For more information please contact us by email gilgandra@nsw.ssaa.org.au and we can send you a calendar and directions.
