SSAA Albury 5 Stand

History

SSAA (NSW) Albury Branch was formally the Albury Wodonga Clay Target Club (AWCTC) and was affiliated with the Australian Clay Target Association (ACTA). AWCTC leased a portion of land on Winchester Lane, Ettamogah NSW for the club in the late 70’s and would not be in the position it is currently without the sterling efforts of many members over the years.  The facilities for the clay target shooter created by those early members stood out as the best in the area with 4 x trap layouts, 4 x skeet layouts and 2 x ball trap layouts.

The process to form SSAA NSW’s latest branch Albury (N54), started on Tuesday 16th April 2019 when in excess of two thirds of the Members of the AWCTC voted at a Special General Meeting to form a SSAA Branch and adopt the SSAA Constitution.  The decision was not taken lightly but the members saw this as opportunity for growth that had eluded the club for some years.

The change of direction to become a SSAA Branch has already provided the impetus to expand.  We now have 4 x 5-Stand layouts to cater for increased shooter numbers.  Since the rebirth as a SSAA Branch our membership has increased from approx. 65 members to 424 members as of 27 October 2020.
