SSAA (NSW) Sydney Branch Awards Night 2025

On the 2nd August 2025, members from the SSAA (NSW) Sydney Branch came together to celebrate and recognise the volunteers who keep our sport safe, welcoming, and accessible – the often unsung heroes of our community.

The evening celebrated the hard work and dedication of the people across SSAA
(NSW) Sydney ranges, with Niven Little named Overall Range Officer of the Year.

Individual Range Officer awards also went to Sam Musico (ANZAC Range), Samuel Ng (SSAA NSW Auburn Shooting Centre), Jeremy Inns (Holroyd Range), Rob Bernard (Hornsby Range), Niven Little (Silverdale Range), Neville Spicer (Silverdale Pistol Club), Neil Smith (St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre), and Robert Laface (St Marys Pistol Club).

A well-deserved Certificate of Appreciation was also awarded to Kadeja Asaad for her outstanding contribution to the shooting community. Since first becoming involved in 2017, Kadeja or  ‘Kadz’ as many affectionately know her, has played a key role in initiatives such as the Ladies Try Shooting events and NSW SES fundraiser, while also encouraging her family to volunteer alongside her.

This awards evening proudly acknowledged the people who quietly put in countless hours to make sure members can enjoy their shooting in a safe and well-managed environment.

A special thanks was also extended to James Walsh for serving as MC on the night. The event was a reminder that while shooting facilities and equipment matter, it is the commitment of volunteers that truly keeps our sport alive.
